About Me
I am Okan Çalışkan, a multidisciplinary artist born in Turkey in 1985, working across music production, sound design, visual art, and creative coding. My work is driven by a curiosity about the connections between art, science, spirituality and altered states of perception.
My relationship with music and cinema began at an early age. Over the years, I worked with film production companies and creative agencies as an editor, visual effects artist, and music editor, gradually moving deeper into sound design, film music, and the relationship between sound and image.
I started producing music in 2000, but my professional music career began in 2007 after signing with Sound Lab. During the following years, I explored a wide range of electronic music styles. Alongside my own productions, I created more than 600 remixes as a freelancer for artists and clients around the world.
I have performed at over 100 festivals and indoor events. Alongside music, I continued working in cinema and visual arts. In 2015, my fiction documentary Dimensions received three awards, including Best Art Director, and was officially selected for several independent film festivals.
In 2020, Incredible Science was born. The project gained international attention after my remix of Killerwatts (Tristan & Avalon) was selected as one of three winners in their remix competition and released by Nano Records. Across my different musical projects, I have released around 5 albums, more than 10 EPs, and over 50 singles, alongside numerous remixes and collaborations. I am also the founder of the boutique record label Psychedelic Dimensions.
Over time, I decided to go deeper into the technical side of audio and visual production, learning and experimenting with C++, CUDA, and creative coding. I mainly began developing plugins and custom tools for use in my own work, allowing me to create things that conventional software could not always provide.
Today, I am involved in every stage of sound production, from composition and sound design to mixing and mastering. I am particularly interested in projects where sound, image, movement, space, and technology behave as parts of the same living system.
